Organize the information given.

*The park is square; each side is 7/10 of a mile. So, the perimeter of the park is: (7/10)(4) → (7/5)(2) → 14/5

*She walked around the park 3 1/2 times. So, she walked 14/5 miles by 3 1/2 times.

Just multiply the fractions together to get the product.

= 14/5 × 3 1/2

= 14/5 × 7/2

Reduce the number by 2.

= 7/5 × 7/1

Multiply regularly.

= 49/5

Change into a mixed fraction.

= 9 4/5 is the solution.

The perimeter of the park is 7/10 * 4 = 28/10 miles
Martha walked 28/10 * (3+1/2) = 49/5 = 9.8 miles

The current l, in a circuit varies inversely with the resistance, R. If the resistance is 12 when the current is 3, what is the
ivolga24 [154]

Answer:

6

Step-by-step explanation:

Given I varies inversely with R then the equation relating them is

I =  \frac{k}{R} ← k is the constant of variation

To find k use the condition R = 12 when I = 3

k = IR = 3 × 12 = 36

I = \frac{36}{R} ← equation of variation

When I = 6, then

6 = \frac{36}{R}, hence

R = \frac{36}{6} = 6
