The expected value is $38.46.

The probability of drawing a 10 from any suit is 4/52.  Multiply this by the earnings, 500:

4/52(500) = 2000/52 = 38.46

Juliette [100K]
The equation is provided below:

x = cost of DVD player
3x = cost of the movies
$532 = total amount purchased for the DVD player and the movies

$532 = x + 3x
$532 = 4x
$532 / 4 = 4x / 4
$133 = x (cost of the DVD player)

$133 * 3 = $399 (cost of the movies)

To check if the equation is correct:

$532 = $133 + ( 3 * $133)
$532 = $133 + $399
$532 = $532

The correct answer for the cost of the movies will be $399.

Given that log_{a}(3) = 0.477 and
kipiarov [429]

Given:

\log_{a}(3) = 0.477,\log_{a}(5) = 0.699

To find:

The value of \log_{a}(0.6).

Solution:

We need to find the value of:

\log_{a}(0.6)

It can be written as

\log_{a}(0.6)=\log_a\left(\dfrac{6}{10}\right)

\log_{a}(0.6)=\log_a\left(\dfrac{3}{5}\right)

By using the property of logarithm, we get

\log_{a}(0.6)=\log_a(3)-\log_a(5)        [\because \log \dfrac{a}{b}=\log a-\log b]

\log_{a}(0.6)=\log_a(3)-\log_a(5)

On substituting the given values, we get

\log_{a}(0.6)=0.477-0.699

\log_{a}(0.6)=-0.222

Therefore, the values of \log_a(0.6) is -0.222.

If u have only a 3-quart pitcher and 5-quart pitcher how can you measure exactly 1 quart
liraira [26]
The only way I can think of is filling the 3-quart dumping it into the 5-quart. Fill the 3-quart again and then use it to fill the 5-quart the rest of the way. That process should leave you with 1-quart of water in the 3-quart container.
