Vietnamization was the policy established by United States President Richard Nixon to put an end to the U.S. Army involvement in the hostilities against the Viet Cong. The Policy considered the training and expansion of South Vietnamese troops and equipment to improve their abilities at the time U.S. military ground forces abandoned the South Vietnam territory. The decision did not like the government authorities of South Vietnam. South Vietnamize disliked Vietnamization in that it seemed like their ally was abandoning them.
