so to figure out the are we can figure out the triangles are first. So we know one side equals 70 because 110 minus 40 is 70. The other side is 110 because 130 minus 20 is 110.

The equation for the are of a triangle is 1/2 BH

So half of the base times the height

So 70 times 110 = 7700 , then we divide that by 2.

now we know the are of the triangle is 3850

No we can figure out the rectangles are which is just 20 times 110 which equals 2200

Now all you have to do is add 2200 and 3850

The answer is 6050 squared
