The mean price for a home in a Florida county is $125,000. The standard deviation for the same sample is $23,000. What percentag

e of homes in the county are valued over $100,000? Use the Standard Normal Probabilities table to find your answer. Enter your answer with two places.
I keep getting 86.15%
The answer is supposed to be 86.21%

I am not sure what I did wrong so please explain what you did.

Solution: There is nothing wrong with your calculation's. But the question wants to round the z score to two decimal places.

Let me show you how to get 86.21%.

We are given:

\mu=125,000

\sigma=23,000

We have to find P(x>100,000)

Using the z-score formula, we have:

z=\frac{x-\mu}{\sigma}

        =\frac{100,000-125,000}{23,000}

        =-1.09 rounded to two decimal places

Now we have to find P(z>-1.09)

Using the standard normal table, we have:

P(x>100,000)=P(z>-1.09) = 0.8621 rounded to 4 decimal places

                                               =86.21\%

Therefore, the percentage of homes in the county that are valued over $100,000 is 86.21%

PLEASE HELP <br> Solve the inequality. | 2x + 3 | &lt; 7<br><br> please show all the work
Roman55 [17]

Answer:

-5

Step-by-step explanation:

We have the inequality:

|2x+3|

Use the definition of absolute value:

(2x+3)

Let's evaluate each case individually.

Case 1)

We have:

2x+3

Subtract 3 from both sides:

2x

Divide both sides by 2:

x

Case 2)

We have:

-(2x+3)

Divide both sides by -1. Since we're dividing by a negative, flip our sign:

2x+3

Subtract 3 from both sides:

2x

Divide both sides by 2:

x

So, our solutions are, from least to greatest:

\{x|-5, 2\}

We can see that our inequality is a <em>greater than</em>.

Remember, when dealing with absolute value:

When our sign is greater than (or equal to), our solution is an "or" inequality with our solutions being all values less than our lesser solution <em>or</em> all values greater than our greater solution.

When our sign is less than (or equal to), our solution is an "and" inequality with our solution being between our two solutions.

Since our inequality is a less than, our solution is all the values between our lesser solution and our greater solution.

Our lesser solution is -5. Our greater solution is 2.

So, the solution to the inequality is all values between -5 and 2. As a compound inequality, this is:

-5

And we're done!

3. What is the solution to the equation 5x + 7 + 2 x = 7(2x + 3) - 63?
Scrat [10]

Step-by-step explanation:

5x+7+2x=7(2x+3)-63

We move all terms to the left:

5x+7+2x-(7(2x+3)-63)=0

We add all the numbers together, and all the variables

7x-(7(2x+3)-63)+7=0

We calculate terms in parentheses: -(7(2x+3)-63), so:

7(2x+3)-63

We multiply parentheses

14x+21-63

We add all the numbers together, and all the variables

14x-42

Back to the equation:

-(14x-42)

We get rid of parentheses

7x-14x+42+7=0

We add all the numbers together, and all the variables

-7x+49=0

We move all terms containing x to the left, all other terms to the right

-7x=-49

x=-49/-7

x=+7 - Answer

Which table represents a linear function? Explain how you know.
Evgesh-ka [11]

Answer:

Table A represents a linear function. I know because the rate of change between the x and y values is always 1. If you look at the table diagonally, you can see that you can add one to all of your x values to get your y.

The system of equations x + 2y = 6 and x – 4y = 0 is graphed below. What is the solution to the system of equations?
blagie [28]

Step-by-step explanation:

x + 2y = 6....(1) \\  \\  x - 4y = 0\\ \implies \: x = 4y....(2)\\  \\ from \: equations \: (1) \: and \: (2) \\ 4y + 2y = 6 \\   \therefore \: 6y = 6 \\  \\ \therefore \: y =  \frac{6}{6}  \\  \\  \huge \red{ \boxed{ \therefore \: y =  1}} \\  \\ substituting \: y = 1 \: in \: equation \: (2) \\  \\ x = 4y \\  \\ \therefore \: x = 4 \times 1 \\  \\  \huge \orange{ \boxed{\therefore \: x = 4 }} \\  \\ \therefore \: (x, \:  \: y) = (4, \:  \: 1) \\ is \: the \: required \: solution. \\
