Sedimentary rock is one of the three main rock groups (along with igneous and metamorphic rocks) and is formed in four main ways: by the deposition of the weathered remains of other rocks (known as 'clastic' sedimentary rocks); by the accumulation and the consolidation of sediments; by the deposition of the results of biogenic activity; and by precipitation from solution.

Answer:

Cooling

Explanation:

Rocks are of different types. One of those types is the Sedimentary rock, which is the type made from sediments of rocks that have once existed. These rocks don't just appear out of nowhere, they gradually develop in a series of processes. The processes involved in the formation of sedimentary rocks are: weathering, eroding, transportation, deposition and cementation.

Weathering, which is the first process, involves breaking down of pre-existing rocks which are then carried by certain physical forces like wind, water etc. This process is called erosion. The washed material is then transported away from the original site, to be deposited in another environment. The deposited material/sediments then undergo a compaction and cementing process where the rock particles glue together to eventually form the sedimentary rock. This process is called Lithification.

Therefore, cooling is not one of the processes that forms sedimentary rocks.

The enzyme that accomplishes transcription is termed
alekssr [168]

Answer:

The enzymes that perform transcription are called RNA polymerases. Like the DNA polymerase that catalyzes DNA replication (discussed in Chapter 5), RNA polymerases catalyze the formation of the phosphodiester bonds that link the nucleotides together to form a linear chain.

Species A has a diploid number of 42 chromosomes, while species B has a diploid number of 48 chromosomes. Give the chromosome nu
Arada [10]

Answer:

a. autotriploid of species A: 63 chromosomes

b. autotetraploid of species B: 96 chromosomes

c. allotriploid from species A and B: 1) 66 chromosomes and 2) 69 chromosomes

Explanation:

For a.

this species will have 3 haploid sets of chromosomes ('tri' means 3)

one haploid set = 21

21 × 3 = 63 chromosomes

For b.

this species will have 4 haploid sets of chromosomes ('tetra' means 4)

one haploid set = 24

24 × 4 = 96 chromosomes

For c.

there are two ways to do this:

1) two sets of chromosomes from species A and one from species B

42 + 24 = 66 chromosomes

2) one set of chromosomes from species A and two from species B

21 + 48 = 69 chromosomes

Explain why an increase in CO, in Earth's atmosphere, might cause the temperature of the atmosphere to increase and lead to clim
ICE Princess25 [194]

Answer:

When the carbon dioxide concentrations rise, the air temperature will rise as well due to the greenhouse gases heating up and multiplying.

Explanation:

Carbon dioxide causes about 20 percent of Earth's greenhouse effect; water vapour accounts for about 50 percent; and clouds account for 25 percent. ... Likewise, when carbon dioxide concentrations rise, air temperatures go up, and more water vapour evaporates into the atmosphere—which then amplifies greenhouse heating.
