Which molecules may diffuse across a cell membrane without the expenditure of energy or the use of membrane proteins?

Biology
1 answer:

Explanation:

In simple diffusion, small molecules without charges such as oxygen and carbon dioxide flow through a plasma membrane without assistance and without expending energy. Other substances such as proteins, glucose and charged particles called ions cannot pass through the selectively permeable membrane

Why are sex-linked disorders more common in males than in females?
rewona [7]
Hmmm i think its the third one because men only have 1 x chromosome therefore without the other one if the x chromosome on a men carries a disorder it will show because there is no other chromosome to balance it out and in women the disorder has to show on both X chronosome (and its rarer) for a disorder to appear therefore women having a second X chromosome is effectively a protection

Is it accurate to define homeostasis as a constant internal environment
kykrilka [37]
No quite.... Homeostasis is the maintenance of constant internal environment
For example the constant internal temperature of our body is 37 degrees Celsius or 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit. If our body increases or decreases some changes happens to your body in order to return the normal body temperature. If your freezing your blood vessels near the skin constricts so that the heat running through your blood doesnt leave your body because you are in need of heat.

A part of an mRNA has the sequence CCG. Which change to this sequence
Flauer [41]

Answer:

A single nucleotide changes in CCG which will result in missense mutation can be many possibilities.

Explanation:

Missense mutations

CCG codes for Proline amino acid

• Mutation in first nucleotide codes for

 UCG specifically encodes Serine

 ACG specifically encodes Threonine

 GCG specifically encodes Alanine

                                                                                      Missense mutation

• Mutation in second nucleotide specify for coding

 CUG specifically encodes Leucine

 CAG specifically encodes Glutamine

 CGG specifically encodes Arginine

• Mutation in Third Nucleotide will not result in missense mutation because any point mutation in third nucleotide of codon will encode same amino acid i.e Proline.
