It might be said that the first lesson of the poem is to float on one´s back (option A) It seems that a father is teaching his daughter to swim on her back. This can be inferred by the use of certain words such as "Lie back daughter" "spread your arms wide". It also might be understood that the lesson is deep that that, It might suggest a father letting her daughter go, letting her be because she is going to be safe.

"I believed every word he said." Is this sentence a verb phrase
Talja [164]
No, this sentence is not a verb phrase, because the subject is not part of the verb phrase here.

Here's why. The subject is "I," the verb is "believed," and everything following the verb ("every word he said") forms the object of the verb. By definition, a verb phrase is one verb + its various objects or modifiers. Here, "every word he said" operates as one single object (it's not just one word, it's EVERY word, and it's not just every word, it's every word HE said). But the subject is separate from the verb phrase, so the entire sentence is not a verb phrase (it's a subject + a verb phrase).

My/o is an example of: the prefix at the beginning of some words. the foundation of the word that provides its meaning. the vowe
madreJ [45]

Answer:

the vowel that joins a root to another root or to a suffix

Explanation:

My/o as in Myology employs a combining vowel, in this case, the 'o', which serves as a merger for two root words or a root word and a suffix. Known to have no distinct meaning, this vowel eases the pronunciation of certain medical terms that are otherwise difficult to pronounce.

Another example is cardiology, which is the study of the heart and diseases associated with it. Cardia is a root word in Greek which means 'heart', and logy is another root wordy in Greek which refers to the 'study of'. It is widely used for this purpose and is seconded by the combining vowel 'a'.

But when a German submarine attacks the freighter he is traveling on to the United States with his mother, the war now becomes a reality. He is injured and then becomes marooned with an old black man, depending on this man for survival. There are three major themes in The Cay: survival, sacrifice, and overcoming prejudice. Philip needs to reevaluate the stereotypes and prejudices he has been raised to believe in order to survive this ordeal. The Cay is a gripping novel that holds your attention until the very last page.
