These two events have easily made our choices in modern times more towards the sides of preventing fascism and also global conflicts. The sheer amount of deaths makes us more anti-war than ever and we try to solve diplomatic issues. WW2 came about because of terrible political and economic decisions assigned to Germany after WW1.
