Its probably easier to explain by doing an example.

Make a the subject of the formula

b^2 = 2as + c

subtract c from both sides:-
b^2 - c = 2as

Now divide both sides by 2s ( to isolate a):-

a = (b^2 - c) / 2s

frutty [35]
It should be 24.5%. If you divide 98 by 400 it's .245. Then multiply it by 100, you get 24.5%.

How can I mesure the diameter or the size of the moon using only ONE photo of a moon eclipse?
Elenna [48]
Go to NASA's website. I'm not sure you can because we don't know the scale of the picture but if you are given one such as 1 cm = 500 miles or something like that, you just find the center of the circle and make a line through it. If the line measures 4.5 cm then the diameter is 2500 miles. This is an example. YOU'RE WELCOME :D

Why does the graph of a function shift left when K is positive and to the right when K is negative?
Sedaia [141]

Answer:

You can visualize this easily.

y=f(x+h)

Now if the argument of the function is taken as (x−h) the value of y will be f((x−h)+h)=f(x)

The function y acquires the value of f(x) at (x−h) amounting to a left shift.

Hope this makes things clear.

How many intersections are there of the graphs of the equations below? One-halfx + 5y = 6 3x + 30y = 36 none one two infinitely
Sergeu [11.5K]

Answer:

infinitely many

Step-by-step explanation:

You have the system

(1/2)x + 5y = 6

  3x  + 30y = 36

Multiplying the first equation by 6 results in 3x + 30y = 36, which is exactly the same as the second equation.  The two graphs coincide, and so there are infinitely many solutions to this system
