I actually work in the medical field with insurance. This question would be an answer on what you think on your personal view. Most of the long-term for basic personal task is what we call as custodial care (ie - home health agencies). Medicare does cover certain home health services (that are approved through Medicare, and usually only covered at a certain amount of hours/days). However, if the person is in a long-term hospital, or in a skilled nursing facility it would be covered, up to what the Medicare will pay (anything needed above the days and hours have to be approved through Medicare). Hospice is included in this as well. Overall, this will also determine on what part of Medicare a person has. There is several different ones and the main two are Medicare part A and part B.
