Why did the United States declare war against Mexico? What were two effects of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo? Explain in detai
NISA [10]

Answer:

On May 12, 1846, the United States Senate voted 40 to 2 to go to war with Mexico. President James K. Polk had accused Mexican troops of having attacked Americans on U.S. soil, north of the Rio Grande. But Mexico claimed this land as its own territory and accused the American military of having invaded. The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo was signed in 1848, the treaty allowed the United States to purchase California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Nevada, Utah, and Colorado for fifteen million dollars, doubling the size of the United States, but also displacing millions of Mexican citizens in new American territory. Mexico also gave up all claims to Texas and recognized the Rio Grande as America's southern boundary.

Hope this helps!!! :)

What message did Harding send when he appointed Andrew Mellon as Secretary of the Treasury? Did Mellon’s actions match Harding’s
ale4655 [162]

In economic matters, Harding broke with what had been the traditional program of the Republicans: protectionism and high taxes. His defense of the non-interventionist government, which his successors would continue, makes him an object of criticism by those who accuse him of having ended the social, redistributive progressivism that had been defended by the Republicans Roosevelt, Taft and continued by the Democrat Wilson.

By appointing Andrew Mellon as Secretary of the Treasury, whose position was to lower taxes and stop funding protectionism and social assistance, Harding confirmed the change of political paradigm of the Republican Party.

In fact, Mellon persuaded Congress to lower taxes in order to stimulate business expansion, matching with the President's message. He was praised for the economic boom of the 1920s, but criticized during the Great Depression and in 1932, he gave up everything to perform as an ambassador in England.

During the Soviet era, 15 ‘union republics’ and several ‘autonomous republics’ were created. Are there any similar areas (politi
saw5 [17]

Answer:

Check the explanation

Explanation:

The Soviet Union was governed and controlled by the Communist Party and the soviet union as at that time was a one party state, Moscow was the capital. The Union Republics were the executive units that subordinated straightly to the Government of Soviet Union. The Union comprised of 15 Soviet Socialist Republics; some of the Union Republics were additionally subdivided into different Autonomous republics later on.

The independent republics were established for specific nations. Whereas the Political or executive divisions of the US are numerous entities that collectively form the U.S. The United State is subdivided into the state. As per the several verdict of the United States Supreme Court, the United States and the 50 individual states as a whole are each autonomous authorities.

Each state governments in the U.S may enforce its own distinct laws but they are not sovereign in the Westphalia International, which states that each and every state has authority and control over its land and domestic affairs but they can't interfere in another states domestic affairs.

Additionally, each state in the U.S doesn’t have international legal authority. What this means is that they don't get recognition by the other countries for example Germany, France, and the Great Britain nor do they have full interdependence powers. This means that they can’t have power over the movement of individuals across the state borders.

What is the significance of the scientific revolution to the study of history ?
kirill115 [55]
The scientific revolution was an important period of time that took place from the end of the Renaissance and lasted until the 18th century in Europe. The scientific revolution led drastic changes in the way the world was conceived and how humans ordered their universe and understood the world around them. The growth in empiricism, mathematics, astronomy, physics, biology, and many other scientific fields began the process of human kind gaining greater insight into the world around them in a way that was in line with empirical knowledge and the scientific method. The scientific revolution laid the groundwork for the creation of all scientific inquiry that came after this period of time.
