The answer is -1/3.
What you can do is substitute the botton "M" with 5p+8
so it would turn out to be 5p + 8= -10p + 3. You then add 10p to each side resulting in 15p + 8 = + 3. You then minus the 8 resulting in 15p= -5. So you then divide -5 by 15 resulting in p=-1/3

Silvio is an air-traffic controller who must calculate the altitude of an incoming plane. He sees the plane at an angle of eleva
Mrac [35]
Since the problem is not telling us the height of Silvio, we are going to assume it is not relevant for our calculations.
Let h the altitude of the incoming plane. We know for our problem that the distance between Silvio and the tower is 3 miles, Also we know that the angle of elevation to the plane is 40°. With this information we can create a triangle as shown in the figure. We need a function that relates the angle of elevation with its opposite and adjacent sides, that function is tangent.
tan \alpha = \frac{opposite.side}{adjacent.side}
tan(40)= \frac{h}{3}
h=3tan(40)
h=2.5miles

We can conclude that we should use the trig function tangent to model this situation; also, we can conclude that the equation that describes this situation is h=3tan(40).

A triangle has coordinates A(6,1), B(6,5), and C(4,1). If the triangle is rotated 180 degrees, what are the new coordinates of t
4vir4ik [10]

Answer:

A(-6,-1) B(-6, -5) C(-4, -1)

Step-by-step explanation:

When a coordinate is rotated 180 degrees, they go from (x,y) to (-x,-y), so all you need to do is multiply every coordinate by -1

In part a, you determined that you can make 40 servings from five packages of buns and four packages of hot dogs without anythin
pentagon [3]

ceiling(700/40) = ceiling(17.5) = 18 . . . . ceiling(x) is the smallest integer ≥ x.

The smallest integer multiple of 40 that is larger than 700 is 18.

The number of packages of buns will be 18*5 = 90.

The number of packages of hotdogs will be 18*4 = 72.

_____

These numbers will ensure that you have 20 bun/hotdog combinations left over. If you want to minimize leftovers, you would use 88 packages of buns and 70 packages of hotdogs. That would give you 4 buns and no hotdogs left over.
