When are the displacement and acceleration equal to zero for the motion of a mass on a spring?

As we know that when object is connected to spring then the motion is to and from about the mean position

Then the acceleration is given as

a = \omega^2 x

here we know that

\omega = angular frequency

now if the displacement from mean position is zero then we will have x =0

and hence the acceleration must be zero

so we will say that acceleration and displacement both are zero when object is at equilibrium position

So correct answer will be

C. at the equilibrium position

What is the velocity of a jet plane that travels 48 meters East in 4 seconds?
soldier1979 [14.2K]

Answer:

the speed of a jet plane = v = 12 m/s

Explanation:

jet plane that travels 48 meters East in 4 seconds?

use the velocity as distance over time formula = v = d / t

where:

t = 4 sec

d = 48 m

plugin values into the formula

v =   48 m

        4 sec

v = 12 m/s

therefore,

the speed of a jet plane = v = 12 m/s

Suppose that the centripetal force acting on an object in circular motion were doubled to a new value, and the object remained i
Lilit [14]

Explanation:

Centripetal force is mass times centripetal acceleration:

F = m v² / r

If force is doubled while mass and radius are held constant, then velocity will increase.

2F = m u² / r

2 m v² / r = m u² / r

2 v² = u²

u = v√2

So the velocity increases by a factor of √2.
