AC is more dangerous because the chance of a human suffering from Ventricular Fibrillation is much higher in the case of AC than DC. On the other hand, the impedance for DC is higher compared to AC so the harshness of electric shock would be comparatively lower than AC. <span>I am hoping that this answer has satisfied your query and it will be able to help you in your endeavor, and if you would like, feel free to ask another question.</span>

an object that is 8 cm tall is located 2.5 m in front of a plane mirror. The image formed by the mirror appears to be. Find di a
UkoKoshka [18]

The image is at 2.5 m behind the mirror (virtual image)

Explanation:

We can solve the problem by using the mirror equation:

\frac{1}{f}=\frac{1}{d_o}+\frac{1}{d_i}

where

f is the focal length of the mirror

d_o is the distance between the object and the mirror

d_i is the distance between the image and the mirror

For a plane mirror, the focal length is infinite:

f=\infty

And in this problem, the distance of the object from the mirror is

d_o = 2.5 m

Substituting and solving for d_i, we find the location of the image:

0=\frac{1}{d_o}+\frac{1}{d_i}\\d_i = -d_o = -2.5 m

And the negative sign means that the image is located behind the mirror, so it is virtual.

What would be a good geographic location for a hydroelectric power plant?
cricket20 [7]

Answer:

C. An area with a large river and significant elevation changes

Explanation:

"The best location for a hydroelectric station should be along the path of a river. It should be at least at the river canyon or at the place where the river narrows. This enables the collection of the water or the diversion of the river."

Hope this helps

An athlete swings a ball, connected to the end of a chain, in a horizontal circle. The athlete is able to rotate the ball at the
garik1379 [7]

(a) 6.04 rev/s

The speed of the ball is given by:

v=\omega r

where

\omega is the angular speed

r is the distance of the ball from the centre of the circle

In situation 1), we have

\omega=8.13 rev/s \cdot 2\pi = 51.0 rad/s

r = 0.600 m

So the speed of the ball is

v=(51.0 rad/s)(0.600 m)=30.6 m/s

In situation 2), we have

\omega=6.04 rev/s \cdot 2\pi = 37.9 rad/s

r = 0.900 m

So the speed of the ball is

v=(37.9 rad/s)(0.900 m)=34.1 m/s

So, the ball has greater speed when rotating at 6.04 rev/s.

(b) 1561 m/s^2

The centripetal acceleration of the ball is given by

a=\frac{v^2}{r}

where

v is the speed

r is the distance of the ball from the centre of the trajectory

For situation 1),

v = 30.6 m/s

r = 0.600 m

So the centripetal acceleration is

a=\frac{(30.6 m/s)^2}{0.600 m}=1561 m/s^2

(c) 1292 m/s^2

For situation 2 we have

v = 34.1 m/s

r = 0.900 m

So the centripetal acceleration is

a=\frac{v^2}{r}=\frac{(34.1 m/s)^2}{0.900 m}=1292 m/s^2
