Cuba mainly relies on sugar as its main export and it is also
one of the world’s leading producers of sugarcane. However, many other Latin
American countries like Brazil also produce sugarcane and compete in the global
market. If by any chance a natural disaster would come, it could cause
disruption in the economy of Cuba. A drop in sugar prices or in its production
would have startling effects. Moreover, more and more people are becoming
health conscious so sugar consumption is expected to drop in the coming years.
Because the high pressure areas are associated with cold air masses which push away out of polar regions during the winter when there is less sun to warm neighbouring regions.
