Read the conclusion to a personal statement. In conclusion, my trips to the seashore have awakened an interest in marine biology

. I am ready to move forward with my dream of becoming a marine biologist. What is the best way to improve the conclusion? Add a sentence to the ending that summarizes the writer’s topic. Add a sentence to the middle that reflects on the writer’s experiences. Revise the final sentence to have a different tone. Revise the first sentence to state a future goal.

Answer: I'm thinking the correct answer is "Add a sentence to the middle that reflects on the writer's experience."

Explanation: The first part of the statement says that trips to the seashore have awakened the author's interest in marine biology. But the author doesn't state why those visits reawakened him, or what it was that happened there that reawakened him. Thus, a sentence explaining what those experiences were, then leads to the conclusion of "I am ready to move forward..."

Which of the following sentences has a helping verb?
disa [49]

The correct option is B) “She had rested on the rock”. Helping verbs are verbs that help the main verb with its meaning and they also set the time of the verb. In this case, the helping verb “had” is helping the main verb “rested”. The auxiliary verb “had” is also setting the verb tense of the sentence, which is past perfect.

The other examples “paddled”, “went” and “swam” are action verbs that do not need a helping verb to extend or add meaning.

Answer:

I think that Sofia should decide this for herself.

Explanation:

She is the only one who knows how much she can do. Her peers could give her their opinions, but these won't help her all that much. She is the expert on herself, and her work. She has to do this herself.
