They measure an athlete's performance in that area being tested. This is done to compare to past performance evaluation tests and to measure if the athlete is getting better or worse. It also determines if the athlete should stop or keep doing his/her sport.

Performance evaluation tests are important for every granted task. Even in athletes, it is essential to evaluate whether their achievement is wonderful or if it needs improvement to reach the desired goal. Performance evaluation test comprises six stages. These include, select properties to be included, select the time method, collect the data, analyze the data that was collected, make a decision based on the analysis, and eventually to complete the decision. Performance evaluation tests in athletes are very valuable because it tells them what their powers and weaknesses are. With this data, they will be able to find ways to destroy their weaknesses and maximize their strengths.
