Which is the graph of the linear equality 2x-3y<12

Mathematics

2x - 3y < 12
-3y < -2x + 12...change the inequality sign because ur dividing by a negative number
y > 2/3x - 4

u have a slope of 2/3.....u have a y intercept of -4 or (0,-4)

to find the x int, sub in 0 for y and solve for x....disregard the inequality sign ....
y = 2/3x - 4
0 = 2/3x - 4
-2/3x = -4
x = -4 / (-2/3)
x = -4 * -3/2
x = 12/6
x = 2......and ur x int is 2 or (2,0)

so go ahead and plot ur intercepts (0,-4) and (2,0)....so start at (0,-4)...and since u have a slope of 2/3......go up 2 spaces and to the right 3 spaces...plot that point....then up 2 and to the right 3...plot that point...keep doing this and u will cross the x axis at (2,0)......now just draw a dashed line connecting ur plotted points

ur line will be a dashed line (because there is no equal sign in the problem)....ur shading will be above the line because it is greater then

Evaluate using the finite geometric sum formula
Sever21 [200]

Answer:

S_9=-18.703.

Step-by-step explanation:

The given series is,

\sum_{i=1}^9(-\frac{1}{2})^{i-1}

When we substitute i=1, we get the first term, which is a_1=-28(-\frac{1}{2})^{1-1}

This implies that,

a_1=-28(-\frac{1}{2})^{0}

a_1=-28(1)=-28.

The common ratio is

r=-\frac{1}{2}

The finite geometric sum is given by the formula,

S_n=\frac{a_1(r^n-1)}{r-1} , -1\:.

Since there are 9 terms, we find the sum of the first nine terms by putting n=9 in to the formula to get,

S_9=\frac{-28((-\frac{1}{2})^9-1)}{-\frac{1}{2}-1}.

S_9=\frac{-28((-\frac{1}{2})^9-1)}{-\frac{1}{2}-1}.

S_9=\frac{-28((-\frac{1}{512})-1)}{-\frac{3}{2}}.

S_9=\frac{-28(-\frac{513}{512})}{-\frac{3}{2}}.

S_9=-28(\frac{171}{256}).

S_9=-\frac{1197}{64}.

S_9=-18.703.

Part 1: How's the weather?
mariarad [96]

Answer:

Part 1: How's the weather? Investigate the weather forecast in your city.

Record the high and low temperatures that are forecast for the next 7 days in the table below. In the columns titled, Difference," record the change in temperature from the day before. To do this, subtract the previous temperature from the current temperature Be sure to use positive and negative numbers as needed! For example, if yesterday’s temperature was 70 and today’s temperature was 65, the difference is 65 – 70 = -5.

Note: The columns for Day One's subtraction and difference cannot be filled in. As this is the first data point, there is no previous temperature to subtract.

Write a mathematical expression using the information from your table to answer the following questions:

What is the mean change in the forecaster high temperatures? Remember, this can be found by averaging the values in the Difference column for the high temperatures. Show your work and steps. If your answer is not an integer, explain what two integers your answer is between.

What is the mean change in the forecaster low temperatures? Remember, this can be found by averaging the values in the Difference column for the low temperatures. If your answer is not an integer, explain what two integers your answer is between.
