The Common Sense was a 46 page pamphlet written by an Englishman (and former tax collector). In it he argues, in plain English, why America should be a separate country from England and why war is the only hope left.
Impact: Most widely published work in American history (more popular than Harry potter!) Read aloud at town hall meetings, it's simple language convinces many people that war against England is the right thing to do.

If the House and Senate pass the same bill then it is sent to the President. If the House and Senate pass different bills they are sent to Conference Committee. Most major legislation goes to a Conference Committee.
