We need to love God for who He really is. He is love; He is kind; He is just; He is powerful; He knows everything; He is in control; He is patient; He is faithful; He is trustworthy…What else do you know about who God is?

God is also known in three spirits;

God the Father, God the Son (who is Jesus Christ), and God the Holy spirit.

He is referred to as the protector, or a shield to the weak. He's also the creator of all; a ruler. He's a light; King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.

One place to look is the Psalms. He is my Helper (Psalm 54:4). He is a God who saves (Psalm 68:20). He is an Honest Judge (Psalm 7:11). He is my fortress (Psalm 94:22). He is my shield (Psalm 7:10). He is our refuge and our strength (Psalm 46:1). He is holy (Psalm 99:9). He is a father to the fatherless and a defender of widows (Psalm 68:5).  He is my Hiding Place (Psalm 32:7).
