Using the newspaper, news magazines, or the Internet, learn which groups of people are working in the area of human rights. Make

a list of five of the groups in America that are working for certain rights and identify these rights. Are they working for "new" rights, or to have existing civil rights laws enforced better? How are their efforts similar to or different from the efforts of America's founders? What methods have they used? How effective have their efforts been so far?
Then, write a 350 word report based on your research. In your report, show how you recognize the difference between cause and effect and a mere sequence of historical events.

I have some: the ACLU- American Civil Liberties Union. They work to enforce the protection of existing rights of all Americans, though they do often work to expand rights, such as gay rights, etc. They are a group of lawyers.
2. NAACP- Nat'l Association for the Advancement of Colored People. They work to protect existing rights of racial and ethnic minorities.
3. NRA- National Rifle Association. Work to protect and expand the rights of gun-owners, based on their interpretation of the 2nd Amendment that it gives individuals the right to carry firearms. Another interpretation is that it gives states the right to form militias (what gun-control advocates often say). There are other interpretations as well.

- That's all I have but hopefully u can research more and answer the questiona.

Why were groups such as the Federalists opposed to the War of 1812?
Alex_Xolod [135]
The Federalists were opposed to the War of 1812 because it would interfere with British trade relations. The Federalists considered England to be a great commercial ally, and since the Federalists were quite in favor of staying wealthy, they didn't want to risk ruining their connections.

The primary reason colonists demanded independence was
Softa [21]

Answer:

Explanation:

Thomas Jefferson is considered the primary author of the Declaration of Independence, although Jefferson's draft went through a process of revision by his fellow committee members and the Second Continental Congress.

How the Declaration Came About

Map of the British Colonies in North America in 1763Map of the British Colonies in North America in 1763

America's declaration of independence from the British Empire was the nation's founding moment.  But it was not inevitable.  Until the spring of 1776, most colonists believed that the British Empire offered its citizens freedom and provided them protection and opportunity.  The mother country purchased colonists' goods, defended them from Native American Indian and European aggressors, and extended British rights and liberty to colonists.  In return, colonists traded primarily with Britain, obeyed British laws and customs, and pledged their loyalty to the British crown.  For most of the eighteenth century, the relationship between Britain and her American colonies was mutually beneficial.  Even as late as June 1775, Thomas Jefferson said that he would "rather be in dependence on Great Britain, properly limited, than on any nation upon earth, or than on no nation."[1]

But this favorable relationship began to face serious challenges in the wake of the Seven Years' War.  In that conflict with France, Britain incurred an enormous debt and looked to its American colonies to help pay for the war.  Between 1756 and 1776, Parliament issued a series of taxes on the colonies, including the Stamp Act of 1765, the Townshend Duties of 1766, and the Tea Act of 1773.  Even when the taxes were relatively light, they met with stiff colonial resistance on principle, with colonists concerned that “taxation without representation” was tyranny and political control of the colonies was increasingly being exercised from London.  Colonists felt that they were being treated as second-class citizens.  But after initially compromising on the Stamp Act, Parliament supported increasingly oppressive measures to force colonists to obey the new laws.  Eventually, tensions culminated in the shots fired between British troops and colonial militia at Lexington and Concord on April 19, 1775.

1. In your opinion, why do we need to defend the customary experience inherited from generations?
GarryVolchara [31]

Explanation: Since its asking for my personal opinion i will give you my response.

I think that we should obey the govs laws bc they are there to make sure we are safe. If there were not rules in place then this country would be a mess. (America.) I'm not saying all the rules are okay. Some shouldn't be there but they are sadly.
