Traveling west in the 1800s would have been fraught with danger, but depending on the area traveled to, it could have been relatively safe. The dangers would have been from wagon breakages and native attacks on lands opened up by the Homestead Act. Moving west through the railroads, though, might have been a bit safer since it would have been less likely that they would have been set upon by the natives in those areas.

How did tension over slavery and the election of the Abraham lincoln lead to the civil war?
Maru [420]

Answer:

When Lincoln was elected, America kept on adding more states, some were slave states, other were free. They balance of free and slave states kept changing, which made people angry, especially in Congress. When Lincoln came into power, everyone was scared that he would abolish slavery for good, and add more free states to the union, so congress would be able to abolish slavery, therefore leading to the Civil War.

Write a 150-200 word essay on the factors that account for germanys early success in world war 2
Triss [41]
I don't know if I'll type you a whole essay... but!

There are a lot of factors that contribute to the German army's early victories. One of the biggest is the amount of modernization that the German nation went through, they developed new weapons and vehicles that would help supplement their new Blitzkrieg tactics. Another factor is the fact that the Allied Nations (Britian and France) were doing their best to appease the aggressive German nation, they allowed them to breach the confines of the Treaty of Versailles and invade neighboring nations. Another factor is that Hitler had major ambitions and dreams for what he thought was possible and was in a position to have perhaps some of the greatest engineers this world has known create his crazy ideas, many of which crafted modern warfare.
