Answer:

            The three steps involved in conversion of 3-methyl-2-butanol to 2-methyl-2-butanol are as follow:

Step 1:

           In this step the dehydration of alcohol takes place in the presence of Phosphoric acid. This step is also called olefination reaction.

Step 2:

           In the second step one of the important intermediate called as epoxide is formed by reacting the corresponding alkene formed in first step with peracid (i.e. ethaneperoxoic acid).

Step 3:

           In this step reduction is carried out with Lithium Aluminium Hydride. The epoxide is opened by the hydride.

The reaction scheme is shown below.

The density of silver is 10.5 g/cm3. what would be the mass (in grams) of a piece of silver that occupies a volume of 23.6 cm3?
Keith_Richards [23]
Hey there : !

density = 10.5 g/cm³

volume = 23.6 cm³

therefore:

D = m / V

10.5 = m / 23.6

m = 10.5 * 23.6

m = 247.8 g

hope this helps!

Describe why the overgrowth of algae in eutrophication is a bad thing.
Tanya [424]

Answer:

The overgrowth of algae consumes oxygen and blocks sunlight from underwater plants. When the algae eventually dies, the oxygen in the water is consumed. The lack of oxygen makes it impossible for aquatic life to survive

Where are chemicals found
Vinvika [58]

Answer:

Most substances found in nature-such as wood, soil, and rocks-are mixtures of chemical compounds. These substances can be separated into their constituent compounds by physical methods, which are methods that do not change the way in which atoms are aggregated within the compounds.
