The physical geography of the USA is variated and complex, for this reason, geologists have divided the country into 12 major Landscape provinces depending on common geological characteristics and physical properties ( Flatland, mountains, etc). But a further division inside each province is made to be able to analyze each province with higher detail at lower scales. In The Case of the east coast, the major landscape province is the Appalachian plateau containing states on the west of the Appalachian mountains, including New York ( Slide Mountain located in Catwalk subdivision) and West Virginia ( Jamestown location).
