Answer:

The value of the expression 0.9 \cdot (\frac{1}{2}-2)+0.6  is  -0.75.

Explanation:

Given: the expression 0.9 \cdot (\frac{1}{2}-2)+0.6

BODMAS acronym is;

B - Bracket

O - Orders

D -Division

M - Multiplication

A - Addition

S - Subtraction

Using BODMAS rule in the given expression, first solve the bracket terms;

\frac{1}{2} -2 = \frac{1-4}{2} = \frac{-3}{2}

Then we have;

0.9 \cdot \frac{-3}{2} - 9

next, multiply the terms 0.9 and \frac{-3}{2} we get

-1.35 +0.6

then, Add the above numbers;

-1.35 +0.6 = -0.75

Therefore, the value of given expression is, -0.75

The answer would be: -0.75
I distributed the 0.9 to the .5 (I converted the fraction to a decimal) and the 2, afterwards I kept the parenthesis and subtracted the 0.45 with the positive 1.8 and I got -1.35. Then I added -1.35 to 0.6 and that's how I got -0.75 to be the solution.

I am probably wrong, but you could try doing PEMDAS after distributing the 0.9 to the .5 and 2.   :)

What is 14.853 oz rounded to the nearest ounce?
Nookie1986 [14]

Answer:

15 oz.

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Rounding to the nearest ounce:</u>

1<u>4</u>.853

<u>Rounding notes:</u>

If the number one place to the right of the rounding number is greater than 5, the number increases by 1.

If the number one place to the right of the rounding number is less than 5, the number stays the same and anything to the right of the rounding number changes to 0.

<u>Work:</u>

4 represents the 'ounces' place value.

To identify the rounding of 4, we need to determine if the value 8 is greater than 5, or less than 5.

8 > 5, meaning 4 increases to 5.

New rounded number = 15 oz.

According to the general equation for conditional probability, if P(AB)= 3/10 and P(B) =2/5, what is ? P(A l B)?
Alexus [3.1K]

The formula for conditional probablity states that

P(A | B) = \cfrac{P(A \cap B)}{P(B)}

Since we know both numerator and denominator, we only need to plug in the values:

P(A | B) = \cfrac{P(A \cap B)}{P(B)} = \cfrac{\frac{3}{10}}{\frac{2}{5}} = \cfrac{3}{10}\cdot\cfrac{5}{2} = \cfrac{3}{4}
