So he spent 1600 so x will represent original savings so
x-1600
then he spent 2/5 of the remainder on a refrigerator so
[(x-1600)2]/5
he had 1/3 of original savings left
[(x-1600)2]/5=1/3x
distrubute
(2x-3200)/5=1/3x
multiply both sides by 15
3(2x-3200)=5x
distrubute
6x-9600=5x
subtract 5x from both sides
x-9600=0
add 9600 to both sides
x=9600

-50 Points-<br> Find the area of the smaller sector. Leave your answer in terms of pi.
jok3333 [9.3K]
Area of a sector of a circle is (Angle of Sector/360°)*πr^2

If you plug in the given values, you get (30°/360°)*36π

Simplify the equation.
(1/12)*36π

Simplify the equation again and you get your answer.
Area = 3π

What does 1 1/8 X 1/9 =
Alona [7]

Answer: 11/8 * 1/9 = 11/72

Step-by-step explanation:

Btw, * means multiply

It equals 11/72 because if you multiply the numerator 11*1, it equals 11. If you multiply the denominator, 8*9, it equals 72. So it equals 11/72, and it cannot be simplified. Hope this helps! :3

Gavyn, Richard and Stephen share some sweets in the ratio 2:3:3. Gavyn gets 20 sweets. How many sweets are there altogether?
Brums [2.3K]

Answer:

80

Step-by-step explanation:

Gavyn's share is 20 sweets representing 2 parts of the ratio.

Divide 20 by 2 to find the value of one part of the ratio

\frac{20}{2} = 10 sweets ← 1 part of the ratio

3 parts = 3 × 10 = 30

Total number of sweets = 20 + 30 + 30 = 80
