So he spent 1600 so x will represent original savings so
x-1600
then he spent 2/5 of the remainder on a refrigerator so
[(x-1600)2]/5
he had 1/3 of original savings left
[(x-1600)2]/5=1/3x
distrubute
(2x-3200)/5=1/3x
multiply both sides by 15
3(2x-3200)=5x
distrubute
6x-9600=5x
subtract 5x from both sides
x-9600=0
add 9600 to both sides
x=9600

$318.75

multiply 25.5 by 12.5 which equals 318.75.

to know where to put the decimal, you count the numbers to the right of the decimal point. in this equation youre multiplying 25.5 and 12.5. there are 2 numbers to the right of the equation so in your answer, there should be 2 numbers to the right of the decimal.

A large school district in Connecticut wants to estimate the average SAT score of this year's graduating class using a 95% confi
forsale [732]

Answer:

[ 502.5, 517.5]

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Mean of the sample, µ = 510

Total sample size, n = 100

Standard deviation = 75

Confidence level = 95%

Now,

The interval for µ is given as:

⇒ µ ± z\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt n}

for 95% confidence level z value = 1.96

Thus,

The interval for µ

⇒ 510 ± 1.96\times\frac{75}{\sqrt{100}}

or

⇒ 510 ± 7.5

or

⇒ [ 510 - 7.5, 510 + 7.5 ]

or

⇒ [ 502.5, 517.5]
