The Americans stopped attacking the British outside of Philadelphia after they retreated for the first time because of the weather.
It was winter, and whereas the British were warm and cozy, whereas those Americans who still wanted to fight were frozen and deprived of food and resources. Thus they decided to wait until the weather cleared and then attack their enemies.

Which quotation best gives empirical evidence supporting the central idea that the Indians’ working conditions were similar to s
Andrei [34K]

(D)- “Their lives were completely controlled by the terrifying overseers.”

This is the best answer to the question. It shows that the Indians' working conditions were similar to slavery because it indicates that the Indians did not have control over their own lives. Slaves did not have control over their own lives either. Options B and C are not correct because they both show that the Indians were paid for their work and slaves did not receive any payment for their labor. Option A is also not the best answer because slaves usually did not work in factories. They often had jobs in the fields or in the main house.
