A rough draft is the preparation for a final essay and as I see it a rough draft may contain all of the elements mentioned in the given options. For example, prepositions, nouns and adverbs are also sure to be included, since it is a written piece and these are central components of any language. Transitions will probably be utilized, as you will probably build up a few points in your exposition and should change from thought to thought.

Answer:

Jordan’s topic is acceptable, but it is not in the correct format.

Explanation:

Jordan's task is to write a narrative essay about a significant experience with a family member that has shaped his identity. A narrative essay is an essay written in the form of a story, often about a personal experience. While Jordan chose an acceptable topic (Andre is his cousin, which means that he is a member of Jordan's family, and he significantly influenced him), the format he chose is wrong. A letter isn't an example of a narrative essay, which is why Jordan should use a different format.

Jonah is reading the passage and believes that the phrase "icy smile" is an oxymoron. Why does he believe this? A. The words "ic
timofeeve [1]

Answer: B

Explanation:

"icy" when describing a person's attitude or personality means cold, rude, etc, but a smile is usually happy and warm.

Personally I don't think it's an oxymoron- it's definitely possible to do a rude, fake smile. But B is what an oxymoron is- two words that are opposite in meaning and shouldn't technically be used together- like "awfully good" or "bittersweet."

Q3. Fill in the blanks with correct form of the Verb given in bracket:
nirvana33 [79]

Answer:

Indians <u>are </u>known for their hospitality. They feel that guest is a person to be <u>honoured </u>and respected and <u>serving </u>him is a sacred duty. My mother <u>is</u> very particular about <u>keeping </u>things in their proper place, but the moment Mr. Narayan <u>arrived</u>, our guest room as well as our drawing room is in a total mess. He is very unsystematic and <u>throws </u>things here and there. As long as Mr. Narayan is in the house. our whole routine<u> is going to remain </u>upset.

Explanation:

Here, we need to pay attention to the tenses and voice of verbs.

The present simple tense (<em>are, throws</em>) is used to talk about habits, unchanging situations, general truths, and fixed arrangements.

The past simple tense (<em>arrived</em>) is used to talk about actions that took place and finished in the past.

The construction <em>is going to + infinitive</em><em> (is going to remain) </em>can be used for predictions based on something we can see or hear now.

Gerunds (<em>serving, keeping</em>) are nouns derived from verbs by adding -ing.

The passive voice (<em>to be honored</em>) is used when we want to emphasize the action and the object of a sentence rather than the subject.
