Why do certain cells of the body divide at different rates

Biology

Because different cells of the body need to reproduce faster like blood cells because if we didn't have them we would die, or when your growing your body is getting rid of old cells and replacing them

Because some cells in the body are subjected to a hostile environment and may die. Skin cells are one example of this, and they rapid reproduction. Brain cells enjoy a relatively calm environment and hardly divide at all. Hope my explanation made sense.

F. F. Blackman performed experiments to investigate the effects of various factors on photosynthesis. In one of his experiments,
topjm [15]

Answer:

Light was a limiting factor for photosynthesis under the given conditions. Light is required for photosynthesis.

Explanation:

According to Blackman's principle of limiting factors, the rate of photosynthesis is regulated by the factor which is present below the minimal value. Photosynthesis is regulated by many factors such as CO2 concentration, temperature, light intensity, etc. However, under particular conditions, the factor present below the minimum levels regulate its rate.

In the experiment, when the light intensity was present below its minimum levels, an increase in the light intensity increased the rate of photosynthesis. Here, light intensity was the limiting factor and no other factors such as CO2 or temperature would affect the rate of photosynthesis.

Once the light intensity reaches its optimal levels, other factors become limiting and there is no further increase in the rate of photosynthesis by increasing the light intensity.

What happens to a cell that is placed in a hypotonic solution? Why does this happen?
DochEvi [55]

Answer:

In a hypotonic solution, the solute concentration is lower than inside the cell. ... Depending on the amount of water that enters, the cell may look enlarged or bloated. If the water continues to move into the cell, it can stretch the cell membrane to the point the cell bursts (lyses) and dies.
