The Boxer Rebellion (1899 - 1901) was an anti-imperialist, anti-foreign, and anti-Christian riot against the dynasty and the Westerners who had a privileged status in China during the Qing dynasty. It led to war between China´s Empress, Dowager Cixi, who supported the Boxers, and the Eight-Nation Alliance of American, Austro-Hungarian, British, French, German, Italian, Japanese, and Russian troops.
