In october 2012, apple introduced a much smaller variant of the apple ipad, known as the ipad mini. weighing less than 11 ounces

, it was about 50% lighter than the standard ipad. battery tests for the ipad mini showed a mean life of 10.25 hours (the wall street journal, october 31, 2012). assume that battery life of the ipad mini is uniformly distributed between 8.5 and 12 hours.

Solution:

Mean life of i-pad mini= 10.25 hours

Formula for mean life = e^\frac{-T}{d}}, where d = Time Constant

Mean life of i-pad mini =  e^\frac{-10.25}{d}}

Battery life of the i pad mini is uniformly distributed between 8.5 and 12 hours.It can be written as

Pr (8.5 ≤ X ≤ 12)= \int\limits^{12}_{8.5} {e^\frac{-10}{d}}} \, dx, where , d= time constant.

Enter the value for x that makes the equation 1/2 (4x+12)+5x=30 true.
8090 [49]
First, distribute the (1/2) into (4x+12) by multiplying them.

The equation becomes:

2x + 6 + 5x = 30

On the left side, combine “like terms” through addition.

7x + 6 = 30

Subtract 6 from both sides:

7x = 24

Finally, get x alone by dividing both sides by 7:

x = 24/7, or if you wanted to round the decimal answer, it’s about 3.429.

If a restaurant bills totals $85, what amount should be left as a 15$ tips A. $97.75 B. $11.90 C.$12.25 D. $12.75
Nata [24]
If the total bill is $85, and you want to leave a 15% tip, then you can calculate it as follows:

85 * 15%

= 85 * 15/100

= 85 * 0.15

= 12.75

The amount that should be left as a tip is D. $12.75.

Find two numbers that multiply to make the 1st number and add to make the 2nd number. Multiply -42; Add 1 _____, and _____
dedylja [7]

Answer:

  -6 and 7

Step-by-step explanation:

It is useful to look at the factor pairs of -42.

  -42 = -1(42) = -2(21) = -3(14) = -6(7)

Sums of these factor pairs are 41, 19, 11, 1.

You want the last pair of factors: -6 and 7.
