What symbolic implication emerge from Oedipus blinding himself

English

velikii [3]4 years ago

Oedipus' self-inflicted blindness symbolizes his foolishness and inability to see clearly what stood before him. Famed for his commonsense and clear thinking, Oedipus has been revealed all too human. Blinding himself is his way of taking responsibility for his part in his father's death and a symbol of new found wisdom. ;)

What does the information about the sleeping cabinet suggest about the narrator? Big Finish | Common Lit A B C D Please help me.
Makovka662 [10]

Answer:

The narrator's habit of looking out the window suggests that they long for something different or missing in their life.

Explanation:

This main detail about the narrator and the supporting details in the passage shows that the family might be longing for the life they used to have before such as life at Terra before going to Mars. According to the narrator, his imaginations run wild while looking out of the window. Though little, compared to the others she might have imagined life in Terra.

The sentence in paragraph 7; "Sometimes I wish I got to grow up in Terra and get bigger" supports the idea that the family might have longed for something different or missing in their life.

Tell how the italicized noun clause is used.
natita [175]

Subject

The entire sentence is about "Whatever you tell me". This is the subject of the sentence. The verb phrase is "shall remain". Shall is a helping verb (think will). Remain is a linking verb. Secret is a predicate nominative (type of subject complement) that renames the subject as a secret. Ours is a possessive adjective describing whose secret it is. Since there is no action verb there is no direct object. There is also not a preposition so there cannot be an object of a preposition.

What have you learned about self esteem so far? how will you apply that information to your life
crimeas [40]

Answer:

Self esteem is your self evaluation of your worth and i have learnt that your thoughts and what you feed yourself play a huge role in your self esteem. The more you watch and indulge in social media that promtes self hate or continuosly shows you toxic standards of beauty is the more you if you are not strong enough (keeping in mind it is very hard to not get caught up) may find your self looking at yourself in a negative manner. The process to self love is truely difficult and can take its time and it is all about changing the negative thoughts you have about yourself to positive ones. Therefore it is important to look in the mirror and acknowlegdeyour beauty inwardly and outwardly and say 'I am beautiful in my own way. I am not a copy and paste of some one else I am different and people will hate to see that but I love me and thats what truely matters.'. I have also learnt to stop watching toxic shows and looking at toxic images so that I can be happy and uplift my self esteem.

Explanation:

Hope this helps xx
