3 0

Answer:

With the rule: d(n) = d(n-1) x (-5), we have:

d(1) = 8

d(2) = d(1)x(-5) = 8x(-5) =-40

d(3) =d(2)x(-5) = -40x-5 =200

Other way:

d(n) = d(n-1) x (-5) => d(n) = d(1)x(-5)^(n-1)

d(3) = d(1)x5^(3-1) =8x5^2=8x25 =200

John and Sarah are each saving money for a car. The total amount of money John will save is given by the function f(x)= 60 + 5x.
natka813 [3]
Hi,
they both amount would be same  when

f(x)=g(x)

60+5x=x^2+46
x^2+46-5x=60
x^2-5x-14=0
x^2-7x+2x-14=0
(x+2)(x-7)=0

if x= weeks than x should be positive so x=7

In 7 weeks both will save same amount.
