Personally smokers should quit smoking for lots of reasons.
#1 The smoke that goes into your lungs will make them look like you ate a whole jar of tar. Any sort of smoke can give you cancer from all the chemicals put into cigarettes. And to tell you the truth there is chemicals in a cigarette that people don't even know about.
#2 good luck running in track, biking around, and even walking up a hill. Smoking cigarettes can also give you Emphysema, which means you lose breath faster. It's like having an Asthma attack.
#3 it makes everything stink. its gives children second hand smoke which gives them a chance of having cancer faster than the person actually smoking it. You'll never have nice smelling clothes, breath, and IT YELLOWS YOUR TEETH. Not fun.
#4 If you ever watch commercials on TV... look at those people who smoke very closely. Their eyes turn yellow, throat cancer can happen and you can have that big hole in your throat and even have heart attacks. If you ever notice, people who smoke also cough and me being a smoker personally... you get nasty stuff in the back of your throat like its a big wad of spit and you cant get it out. Smoking makes your stomach hurt too. Stale cigarettes make you want to throw up, they cost wayyy to much, and not only that THEY WILL KILL YOU. They're not cool. They're not fun. They don't even taste good.
I've been smoking for 5 years now and I'm only 18. My chances of dying right now is very high. Too much caffeine and cigarettes can give you a heart attack. SO DO NOT SMOKE.

What is the theme of the McWilliamses and the burglar alarm?
Gwar [14]

Answer:

The theme of the story is that intelligence is more effective than money in protecting people.

Explanation:

"McWilliamses and the burglar alarm" is a short story written by Mark Twain. In this story we know the McWilliams family who spent lots of money buying burglar alarms for the house where they live, but thieves keep entering the house frequently, which shows that the alarms are completely ineffective. When the family complains to the company that makes the burglar alarms, the company says they need a better and more expensive alarm, which also doesn't stop thieves from breaking into the house.

Given this, Mark Twain shows that the McWilliams family could not see that they were being deceived by the producer of the burglar alarms. This lack of family intelligence prevented them from realizing this and for that reason, they believed that money was needed to protect them, when intelligence was even more essential in this case. Thus, we can conclude that the theme of this story is that intelligence is more important than money to protect a person and their family.

It is important to emphasize that the theme of a story refers to the message that the author wants to promote through the text.
