A democracy is a system in which the people vote and everyone is equal (ideally). In practice, in most if not all democracies (especially in America), some group or groups are disadvantaged in some way, be it voting rights, judicial rights, social rights, etc. This widespread inequality has led to the concept of <span>democratic ideals. </span><span>It has nothing to do with the Democratic Party, it is just mostly associated with that because the Democratic Party is trying to move further to the left and be more socially liberal to combat the Republican Party becoming more socially conservative. While there are disadvantaged groups in America (gays, trans people, Muslims, African-Americans, and the mentally/physically disabled to name a few), there will always be the </span><span>democratic ideals </span><span>there to combat that discrimination. The political parties of America are no longer about the economy. They are almost solely dedicated to the social issues in the United States and abroad.</span>
