Answer:

While they are sometimes used interchangeably, they are different: ethics refer to rules provided by an external source, e.g., codes of conduct in workplaces or principles in religions. Morals refer to an individual's own principles regarding right and wrong. ... The legal duty involves a corresponding right.

Hi! :)

I am not exactly sure what you mean by what moral and ethical laws you are talking about, but Ill try my best to break it down. Morals are your (or an individual person) own guiding inner compass on right and wrong. In 6th grade, you know stealing is wrong, so you are not going to do it. That is an example of your morals. That is also an example of a moral law, stealing is illegal. These are things that are guidlines for the whole community. Someone doesn't need to be moral to be ethical. There may be someone who has no moral compass but follows ethics to be in good standing with society. On the other hand, someone can violate ethics all the time because they believe something is morally good. Ethical behavior includes honesty, integrity, fairness and a variety of other positive traits. Those who have others' interests in mind when they make decisions are displaying ethical behavior. In the workplace, there might be a standard for ethics set throughout the company. The examples for ethical but illegal are generally lawmakers deciding to impose their own moral judgments in the law to prohibit some act when there is actually no identifiable public good being diminished by that act. That is the best I can explain, message me if you need something else!

Which descriptive research method allows a psychologist to draw cause-and-effect conclusions?
SVETLANKA909090 [29]
To draw cause and effect conclusions, one needs to conduct a formal experiment, sometimes called a control experiment. The independent variable in this type of experiment is the only thing that is allowed to changed so the experimenter is able to conclude that the it is the independent variable which affected the dependent variable. In other words the independent variable effects the dependent variable, and it is the only thing that can effect the dependent variable. This is not true in correlational experiments. Remember the oft repeated phrase that correlation does not mean causation. In other words, a lot of people carry umbrellas on a rainy day (there is a correlation between rainy days and people carrying umbrellas) but the umbrella carrying people did not cause the rain.

Five _________________ states between the North and South did not secede from the Union though they had slavery.
Tcecarenko [31]

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

Although you forgot to attach the options for this question we can say the following based on our knowledge of the topic.

Five slaveholding states between the North and South did not secede from the Union though they had slavery. Among these states were Kentucky, Delaware, Missouri, and Maryland, and in 1863, West Virginia.

Originally, seven southern states seceded from the Union and this represented the beginning of the American Civil War.

Abraham Lincoln won the elections and became President of the United States. The Southern states knew that this would be its worst nightmare. They did not support abolition because their economies depended too much on slavery. The states that seceded were South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, Louisiana, Georgia, and Texas. They formed the Confederate States and the War began.
