How do magnetic stripes of iron in ocean rock provide evidence of seafloor spreading
STatiana [176]

Answer:

In the 1960s, scientists found evidence that new material is indeed erupting along mid-ocean ridges. The scientists dived to the ocean floor in Alvin, a small submarine built to withstand the crushing pressures four kilometers down in the ocean. In a ridge’s central valley, Alvin’s crew found strange rocks shaped like pillows or like toothpaste squeezed from a tube. Such rocks form only when molten material hardens quickly after erupting under water. These rocks showed that molten material has erupted again and again along the mid-ocean ridge.

When scientists studied patterns in the rocks of the ocean floor, they found more support for sea-floor spreading. You read earlier that Earth behaves like a giant magnet, with a north pole and a south pole. Surprisingly, Earth’s magnetic poles have reversed themselves many times during Earth’s history. The last reversal happened 780,000 years ago. If the magnetic poles suddenly reversed themselves today, you would find that your compass needle points south.

Explanation:

I found this somewhere.

Describe two typical applications for each of the following types of microscope
Veseljchak [2.6K]
A.Transmission electron microscopes are a versatile tool for many fields, including medicine, biology, nanotechnology, metallurgy, forensics, electronics, material science, and much more. A biologist might use a TEM to look at the internal structure of a cell.

b. Industries including microelectronics, semiconductors, medical devices, general manufacturing, insurance and litigation support, and food processing, all use scanning electron microscopy as a way to examine the surface composition of components and products.

c.Brightfield Microscope is used in several fields, from basic biology to understanding cell structures in cell Biology, Microbiology, Bacteriology to visualizing parasitic organisms in Parasitology. Most of the specimens to viewed are stained using special staining to enable visualization.

d.A dissecting microscope is used to view three-dimensional objects and larger specimens, with a maximum magnification of 100x. This type of microscope might be used to study external features on an object or to examine structures not easily mounted onto flat slides.

5. What is the difference between locomotion in plants and animals?<br>pls help he guyzzz
sp2606 [1]

Answer:

Animals can move, but plants cannot

Explanation:

Locomotion in humans and bipeds is accomplished through walking on legs. In other animals, it can be accomplished through walking on four limbs, flying, or swimming. In cells, cilia and flagella are used to move about. However, since plants are not capable of moving themselves, there is no locomotion of plant species.
