Answer:

The three reasons Schlosser uses to support his claim that the fast-food industry resembles the manufacturing business are:

Both industries promote “throughput.”

Both industries stress consistency and standardization.

Workers are interchangeable.

Explanation:

The reasons behind these arguments are: first, they run assembly lines that require the distribution of the processes to achieve the fulfillment of tasks. Second, standardization is key in these types of businesses as they have to create the processes as easily as they can so everyone can perform them. Third, workers are interchangeable because they run bored very often and because the tasks are standardized so they can be done by anyone.

It's when you have too much nutrients in a lake or pond mainly from runoff in big rain storms, this can cause plants to grow more than normal and kill the fish in it for lack of oxygen.

Which details in these lines contribute to the underlying tension of the scene as Salak prepares to depart?
Bas_tet [7]

Answer:

"<em>I open my bag, spread out my little red kayak, and start to  pump it up"</em>

The last line indicated excercebates to the underlying tension in the scene.

Salak had purposed in her mind to journey down the Timbuktu river in Africa.

Prior to this scene, she had been advised severally by her guide who even at this point (which is at the edge of the river) says he is unable to proceed any further. According to the narratives, no man had ever completed neither had any woman.

The odds were not in her favour at all.

The more the guide tries to dissuade her, the more her will crystallizes towards the decision to do so.

Finally, in the scene above, she starts to pump the Kayak (a light frame watertight canoe) in readiness to commence the journey amidst degenerating weather conditions.

Cheers!
