When something cold touches the roof of your mouth (your palate), the sudden temperature change of the tissue stimulates nerves to cause rapid dilation and swelling of blood vessels. This is an attempt to direct blood to the area and warm it back up. The dilation of the blood vessels triggers pain receptors, which release pain-causing prostaglandins, increase sensitivity to further pain, and produce inflammation while sending signals through the trigeminal nerve to alert the brain to the problem.

Why does it matter if people, who are in police custody, are advised of their rights?
Nesterboy [21]

Answer:

It doesn't matter whether an interrogation occurs in a jail, at the scene of a crime, on a busy downtown street, or the middle of an open field: If a person is in custody (deprived of his or her freedom of action in any significant way), the police must read the Miranda rights if they want to ask questions and use the

13th Amendment - Freedom
What did the South do to Limit These Actions?
vlada-n [284]

Answer:

The 13th Amendment supposedly ended chattel slavery in the South, but the South managed to limit these actions in the following ways. The 13th Amendment allows involuntary servitude if convicted of a crime, so this served as a loophole in the amendment. The Southern whites also created "black codes." This led to new types of offenses for not showing proper respect to white people or malicious mischief. However, these offenses could range from a felony to a misdemeanor. Therefore, several black people were wrongly convicted of "crimes."

What helped the colonists win the revoutionary war
tamaranim1 [39]
1) The colonies were too large and spread out. They lacked a capital for quick and easy capture, which made the colonists impossible to completely control.

2) Washington made a point to avoid confrontation, which also made it difficult for Britain to take control of the conflict.

3) America was receiving help from the likes of France, Spain, and the Netherlands.

4) Britain was spinning too many plates, so to speak, and they couldn't afford to continue fighting for this colony as other colonies were falling apart in the West Indies.

5) The British didn't trust Loyalists enough to allow them to fight for the Crown.

6) Americans knew more advanced military tactics than the British, including certain forms of guerrilla warfare learned during conflicts with Native Americans.

Michael just graduated with a degree in Accounting from State University. He worked hard in school but could only achieve a 2.95
olga nikolaevna [1]

According to Ethical Obligations and Decision-Making in Accounting, Michael should not use his overall GPA of 3.25 that includes his two years of community college studies. This is not what the application asks of him, and because of it, he might encounter some problems. If he is able to get an interview by using this information, then it is very likely that the hiring committee will look into his documents more carefully. This will show that he was dishonest in his application.

Instead, the best thing he can do is apply to the job without lying about his qualifications or his GPA. If he is called for an interview, then he can honestly present his case and explain why he thinks that he could be a suitable candidate despite his lower marks.
