Deduce how two genes for different traits that are on the same chromosome can fail to be inherited together.

This is the consequence of the exchange of genetic material called crossing over. It is known that diploid cells carry two versions of each gene, namely, two alleles. Meiosis results in haploid gametes with only one set of chromosomes. Crossing over occurs in meiosis where homologous chromosomes pair up and exchange different segments of the genetic material. So, although they are on the same chromosome, alleles for one trait will be exchanged, and for another will not. This results in chromosomes with new combinations of genes. Without crossing over, all traits on one chromosome will be inherited together, so a parent will produce gametes with only two different combinations and genetic variation will be significantly decreased.

"transforming principle."

B. It confirmed that DNA is a double helix composed of two antiparallel strands.

C. It demonstrated that DNA consists of four nucleotides where the proportions of adenine/thymine and cytosine/guanine remain constant.

D. It proved that DNA is

semiconservative replication.

The CORRECT ANSWER IS A.

A. It suggested that DNA is the

"transforming principle."

Explanation:

A. It suggested that DNA is the

"transforming principle."✔

Griffith's experiments proved

that transformation can be seen in

pneumococcus, but gave no proof based on what molecular background the transformation was

WHILE, the Avery MacLeod-McCarty experiments proved that DNA was THE TRANSFORMING PRINCIPLE.

B. It confirmed that DNA is a double helix composed of two antiparallel strands.❌

These findings were established by James Watson, Francis Crick, Maurice Wilkins and Rosalind Franklin

C. It demonstrated that DNA consists of four nucleotides where the proportions of adenine/thymine and cytosine/guanine remain constant.❌

The findings was established by Erwin Chargaff.

D. It proved that DNA is semiconservative replication.❌

The findings was established by Matt Meselson and Franklin Stahl.

Why do feathers repel water?
Ahat [919]

Answer: Birds pick up oil on their beaks, by rubbing against the uropygial or preen gland near the tail, and then rub it over their feathers. This makes the water unable to break through the oil.

Georgia [21]
The answer is right below.

The bulk of this species’ diet consists of fish in the teleost infraclass, including dragonfish, rattails, anglerfish, and more. They are also known to feed on crustaceans and cephalopods like squid.

These sharks will prey on fish found both on the sea floor and in the water column. Because they are so slow moving, scientists believe these sharks are ambush predators. Their pinkish-red skin actually blends in when in the deep sea.
