A permanent resident of the United States that has citizenship with another country is called a Lawful permanent resident.

A lawful permanent resident is someone who is not a U.S. citizen but is granted by the US government the right to live in the United States indefinitely.

Lawful permanent residents are given "green card" as proof of their right to live in the US indefinitely. They are granted the right to work in the US and to petition for their spouse and unmarried children to receive permanent residence in the US.

Lawful permanent residents, however, do not have the right to vote in the US elections. They must also reside in the US for a minimum of 6 months every year to still be retain their status as a resident. They can also be subject to grounds of deportation if they commit certain crimes or become security risks to the government.

What is Merchants?

A trader in goods made by other people is known as a merchant, particularly one who conducts business internationally. Anyone who engages in commerce or trade is referred to historically as a merchant. As long as trade, industry, and commerce have existed, there have been merchants. In 16th-century Europe, two distinct terms for merchants emerged: meerseniers referred to local traders (such as bakers and grocers), and koopman referred to merchants who operated on a global scale, importing and exporting goods over great distances while providing added-value services like credit and finance.

In different historical eras and among various societies, the standing of the merchant has changed. When referring to a businessperson or an activity in the modern era, the term "merchant" has been used sporadically.

Question: How did the debate over slavery divide the country and lead
romanna [79]

Answer:

The debate of slavery divided the country because of this lead to the civil war. The south was built on the principles of slavery, needing them to work and serve on plantations. The north was built on opportunities and chances relying on urbanisation. When Abraham Lincoln became president he set off to free the slaves " Being free is a human right" this angered many southerners who believed that slaves were less then humans. The south seceded the north because of this which sparked the civil war.
