Explanation:

After United States achieve its independence, issues regarding race, gender, or wealth still persist. That issues even still exist until today.

For example, after gaining the independence in 1787, All black people in united states were still held the status as slaves. We need to experience another civil war before we eventually abolish slavery in 1865. The people even still discriminate them after they gained citizenship.

Another example would be women's ability to vote. In a completely equal democratic society, every single members in society have to be given with the right to vote. But American women only get that right in 1920.
