The 70s represented the peak of oil production in the United States. At that time, the American dollar was the most powerful currency in the world. For instance,  a barrel of oil was based off the value of the American dollar.

October 6 marked the beginning of a war in the Middle East, which witnessed Syria and Egypt attack Israel. Nixon refused to allow the nation to collapse under the pressure of Syria and Egypt. Then, he delivered economic and military aid to Israel.

What idea from the Mayflower Compact influenced the Declaration of Independence?
Nitella [24]

Answer: Government should be for the common good, not just for a few people.

Explanation:

The Pilgrims came to America escaping from the Church of England, where access to the government was limited to a select group of people, based on wealth or lineage.

In opposition to that, the Mayflower Compact established that the American government, although not yet independent from the English crown, would be meant to represent the common good, and this idea had a strong influence in the Declaration of Independence.

aalyn [17]

With many people off at war, there are less people able to work in factories. During war, there is a need for certain materials to make weapons and to send food to troops. In the U.S., there was much propaganda that if you weren't rationing, then you were unpatriotic. These regulations helped fund the war and made sure that the military had needed materials.</span>
