I presume your question is in reference to The Great War, which we now call World War I.

The days leading up to the Great War (World War I) were full of military buildup, military planning, and countries lining up with one another in alliance systems. The Triple Entente had Britain, France and Russia as allies. In between those countries were the members of the Triple Alliance: Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy, with Germany as the leading power in that group.

Because of the alliance system, Germany assumed that if a war began, it would need to fight on two fronts -- west and east. Germany assumed it would be fighting against both France (on its western border) and Russia (on its eastern border) if war broke out.

German Field Marshall Alfred von Schlieffen drew up war plans that said attack France first, quickly, and then hold that territory while deploying forces to contend with Russia in the east.

In 1914, when Russia mobilized troops to come to the aid of Serbia against Austria-Hungary in 1914 (after the assassination of Austria's archduke by Serbian radicals), Germany declared war on Russia. And when Germany went to war, the first thing it did was to march through Belgium to go and attack France. Up to that point France had not had involvement in the conflicts that had begun in the Balkans. Thus the war spread and quickly became a more global conflict.

How does classical literature compare with enlightment literature
vampirchik [111]

The enlightenment paid interest to the guy. Liberty, Equality, Brotherhood and all that. i might think of that the literature of the enlightenment might tension those subjects. Classical literature might tension prototypical characters. The Hero, the ruler, the provider provider might look the comparable as all the others of their form. The enlightenment might tension greater individuality. I continually form of concept that concept happened late for literature in the era that we evaluate the Enlightenment. actual 18th century fiction grew to become into nevertheless particularly classical in its subjects. at the same time as Jefferson, Paine, Franklin or maybe the French have been into political enlightenment, fiction grew to become into nevertheless particularly based. Later, nineteenth century we initiate seeing greater contemporary literature.

A pocket veto occurs when _____.
AlladinOne [14]
A pocket veto occurs when the president takes no action on a bill and Congress adjourns. When a bill comes to congress, they have the power to override a veto as long as they have two thirds of the vote within both chambers. If this happens it becomes a law. If congress doesn't allow the bill to return to the floor and adjourn themselves during the ten day time period bestowed on them, and the president does not sign the bill when it comes to him, this is called a pocket veto and the bill does not make it to becoming a law.
