Answer: a decrease in the growth rate

A growth rate can be defined as the rate at which the number of organisms in a population increase or decrease with respect to time. The growth rate is affected by the births, death, immigration and migration of organisms. Emigeration refers to the displacement or movement of organisms from their native place to other place in search of food, shelter, mate and due to the effect of change in season in the native land. As, a result of migration of organisms from the native land, the growth rate will decrease.

Therefore, with the increase in emigeration the growth rate will decrease.

The correct answer is C. Cause a decrease in growth rate

Explanation:

Emigration is a natural phenomenon in which a percentage of organisms of some population leave the habitat or region where they live to stablish in a new territory either temporally or permanently. This phenomenon is caused by changes in the availability of sources, seasons, reproductive patterns, etc. Additionally, emigration directly affects the population growth rate as a rapid increase in emigration means there is less organism in the population and therefore the population will grow slowly in comparison to a population with low emigration rates. Thus, a rapid increase in emigration causes a decrease in the growth rate.

Identify each adaptation as structural or behavioral adaptations.
Zina [86]

Answer:

Monkeys have a prehensile tail that allows them to grab and hold onto tree branches - structural

Moose make mating calls to locate potential mates - behavioral

Whales are covered in a thick layer of blubber, insulating their bodies in cold ocean waters - structural

Humans have five toes on each foot to help them maintain balance - structural

Many birds migrate south for the winter in search of food - behavioral

Explanation:

The structural adaptations are adaptations that help the organisms to survive in their environment through development of physical traits that give them an advantage. Such adaptations are the thick layer of blubber of the whales, the five toes of the humans, prehensile tail of the monkeys, rotational toe of the clouded leopard, long of the giraffe etc. The behavioral adaptations are adaptations that help the organisms to survive in their environment, but they manifested through their actions, not their physical traits. Such adaptations are the mating calls of the moos, the migration of the birds in winter, the hibernation of the bears etc.
