Answer:

There are three main processes that causes glacial erosion

a) Plucking

b) Abrasion

c) freeze and thaw

Explanation:

There are three main processes that causes glacial erosion

a) Plucking - In this the rocks at the base of glacier gets frozen and thus they stick to the ground. Now when the glacier starts moving, it plucks the rock from the ground. This process of eroding the frozen rocks at the base by the glaciers is called plucking.

b) Abrasion – Abrasion occurs when the plucked rocked by the glacier rub against the ground/bedrock  or side of the glaciers. This rubbing causes scouring and erosion of the bedrock.

c) Freeze and thaw – the water in the glacier melts during the day time and enters into the cracked rocks. During night time, the temperature drops and the water in the crack freezes and expands. This causes further widening of the cracks. This continues until the crack enlarges to an extent where it breaks the rock into smaller pieces.

Assume that instead of Taq polymerase, another polymerase, one that is very heat-sensitive, was used in a PCR. What differences
BigorU [14]

Answer:

The heat sensitive polymerase would be denatured resulting in formation of little or no PCR products.

Explanation:

PCR is a technique that forms multiple copies of a small DNA sample. For the purpose, the DNA sample is exposed to very high-temperature conditions (around 95 degrees C) to facilitate the denaturation of DNA helix. These high-temperature conditions denature enzymes such as heat-sensitive DNA polymerases. Therefore, no or very little DNA molecules will be formed by the end of the process as the denatured DNA polymerase would not be able to extend the primers.

To avoid these conditions, heat-tolerant Taq polymerase is used in PCR which can withstand the extremely high-temperature conditions of PCR.

A muscle cell has a long, thin structure. Which statement best explains why these two types of cells have different structures?
jeka94
Only one type of cell was given, but different types of cells are structured differently in response to what function they need to perform.

For example, muscle cells are like that because they need to be flexible. Bone cells, however, are compact. This is because bone cells need to be durable, to keep the body together.
