Suppose we calculate the least-squares regression lines for two sets of paired data. The first set has a regression line with sl

ope m1 and correlation coefficient r1, while the second set has a regression line with slope m2 and correlation coefficient r2. If r1 < 0 < r2, we can correctly conclude that
A) m1 < 0 < m2
B) r1^2 < 0 < r2^2
C) the first set displays stronger correlation than the second.
D) the second set displays stronger correlation than the first.

Joey has made the scatterplot shown here, and has graphed the least-squares regression line on it. Which conclusion is justified? A) There is a positive correlation between height and distance. B) There is a negative correlation between height and distance. C) There is a binomial correlation between height and distance. D) There is a non-linear correlation between height and distance.

Suzette ran and biked for a total of 34 mi in 3.5 h. Her average running speed was 6 mph and her average biking speed was 12.5 m
olga nikolaevna [1]

Answer:

From the information given

x is time for which she ran at speed of 6mi/h and

y is time for which she biked at speed of 12.5 mi/h

total time = 3.5 h

total distance = 34 mi

so

6x + 12.5y = 34 and

x + y = 3.5

x = 3.5 - y

6 ( 3.5 - y) + y = 34

6.5y = 13 which gives

y = 2 and this

x = 1.5

so suze ran for 1.5 h and biked for 2 h

CHECK

speed of run X time of run + speed of biking x time of biking must be = total distance covered

6 × 1.5 + 12.5 × 2 = 9 + 25= 34 mi

which is true

If a number n has exactly 7 divisors, how many divisors does n squared have?
Anna [14]
A number n=p_1^{a_1}\cdot p_2^{a_2}\cdot\ldots\cdot p_k^{a_k}, where p_k are distinct prime numbers, has (a_1+1)(a_2+1)\cdot\ldots\cdot(a_k+1) divisors.

We know that n has 7 divisors. 7 is a prime number, so among the numbers a_1+1,a_2+1,\ldots,a_k+1 there is only one that is equal to 7.

So,
a_k+1=7\\
a_k=6

That means n=p^6 where p is a prime number.
n^2=(p^6)^2=p^{12}, therefore the n^2 has 12+1=13 divisors.

Find the value of 13 + (-7)
Vikki [24]

Answer:

6

Step-by-step explanation:

Before solve this you've to know that,

( + ) × ( - ) = ( - )

( + ) × ( + ) = ( + )

( - ) × ( - ) = ( + )

Let us solve now.

13 + (-7)

13 - 7

= 6

Hope this helps you :-)

Solve for y 2x-5y=-12
Darina [25.2K]
To solve for y, we must isolate it

2x - 5y = -12
2x + 12 = 5y
\frac{2x + 12}{5} = y
