Nucleus – known as the brain of the cell

Cell membrane – gives protection to the cell and helps holding together the organelles

Cytoplasm – jelly-like substance that holds together the organelles.

Endoplasmic Reticulum – consists of smooth endoplasmic reticulum which lacks ribosomes, and rough endoplasmic reticulum which has ribosomes.

Ribosomes – consists of RNA and protein enzyme and helps in protein synthesis

Mitochondria – known as the powerhouse of the cell and helps transport energy all throughout the cell

Golgi Apparatus – gather proteins and lipids in the cell and distribute it.

Centrioles – releases spindle like formations that is attached to the cell in one of the cell division stages

Lysosomes – helps breakdown larger molecules to smaller molecules

Vacuole – food and water is stored here. It also store waste material before it is transported outside of the cell.

The function of the organelles are as follows.

The first path is from the nucleus. DNA from the nucleus, assigns specific job for the organelles to follow through mRNA. The mRNA goes out from the nucleus and enters the cytoplasm where ribosomes will attach to the mRNA. The ribosome-mRNA combination binds to the endoplasmic reticulum and signals the tRNA to translate the message from DNA. A vesicle that contains the enzyme grows out from the endoplasmc reticulum and transport the enzyme to the Golgi body for further processing. Golgi Body secrete enzymes in order to begin glucose breakdown. When the chemical that are added to the cells and are unable to break down sugar and they die of starvation the organelle that does the chemical most likely attack is the lysosomes.

The below picture shows the food web of the American prairie. What could happen if all of the prairie dogs died? Provide a detai
Aleks [24]

Answer:

Dogs shown in this picture belongs to the secondary consumer trophic level which consumes primary consumer herbivores. These primary consumer herbivores are dependent on grass for food which is a primary producer. If all dogs die, the population of primary consumer herbivores will increase. This increase will lead to decrease in grass at a drastic rate. Therefore, primary producers (grass) will be affected.

AP Biology Question:

Scientists are testing substance L to determine how it enters mammalian cells in a culture. The cells maintain a  120 millimolar (mM) intracellular concentration of substance L . The scientists determined the rate of entry of substance L into the cells at various external concentrations of substance L (10 to 100 mM) in culture medium (Table 1).

What are real life examples of nucleus, chromosomes, mitochondria, and Golgi complex?
STatiana [176]
An example could be office personnels,
1. The nucleus could be the CEO of the company
2. The chromosomes could be the knowledge workers of the company or the managers since these are the people that can shape the company and aid the formation of culture and organization -assisting the CEO.
3. Mitochrondria could be the workers since they power up the company, without them there would be no team, firm or the company itself.
4. Golgi body can be the secretaries or the assisting managers which supports, checks, modifies and confirms the many tasks before it is passed into the nucleus and other organelles, they also dissiminate information.
