When we look back in the past of Chilean literature, Manuel Rojas, started his writing career in between the naturalist movement. To understand more, we can relate realism and naturalism. First, naturalists' writing involved an extreme portrayal of realism which focused more on barbaric attributes of the human race. We notice a non-participant narrator in this tale of kindness.
